A grand cultural program “Sharadotsav” was organized under the aegis of the Department of Art, Culture and Youth in Hari Uppal Auditorium of Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir, Patna. Various presentations of Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Odissi, folk dance and singing enthralled the audience in the programme. All the departments won the hearts of the attendees with their presentations. Tabla and flute playing was presented by the students of composition department in the programme. Jhijhiya folk dance by the students of folk dance department enthralled the audience. The presentation of Odissi dance by the teachers of Odissi department added a different color to the atmosphere. The mask dance left a different impression on the audience present. After this, the presentations of Shardotsav song group and solo ghazal singing added cultural flavor to the atmosphere.

In the presentation of Odissi dance and folk dance, the artists displayed their art in such a way that the auditorium echoed with thunderous applause. Traditional folk songs like ‘Sohar’ and ‘Khelvan’ were enlivened by the students and teachers, which proudly displayed the cultural tradition of Bihar. The program enthralled the audience with Ganesh Vandana, Shiva Stuti and Devi Stuti presented by the students of Bharatnatyam department. Further, Sharadotsav song was presented by teacher Ashok Kumar Prasad and students of the composition department.

The performances of the Kathak department especially attracted the attention of the audience. Emotional expression and lyricism of dance was seen in Meera song based dance and Shri Krishna Raas. The presentation of Shiva Vandana by the students made the whole atmosphere Shiva-filled. Apart from this, the coordination of harmonium, sitar, tabla and pakhawaj in Kaharwa playing made the atmosphere musical. At the end of the program, the audience and guests present praised the artists profusely and described this event of Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir as a ‘unique platform of cultural consciousness’. This program of Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir, Patna not only gave a platform to the artists but also tried to connect the new generation with it while preserving our rich cultural tradition. At the beginning of the program, tribute was paid to the memory of Ustad Zakir Hussain by keeping 2 minutes silence. Sushant Kumar, Administrative Officer, Ashok Kumar Singh, teacher, Manoranjan Ojha, teacher, Sudeepa Ghosh, teacher, Kumar Krishna Kishore, teacher Bam Shankar Mishra, teacher and Surendra Chaudhary were present in the program.
